Polestar slashes the 2025 Polestar 3 by up to $18,000 through its Clean Vehicle Incentive, dropping the base price to $49,500.

Why it matters: The discount makes Polestar’s luxury SUV cheaper than the average new car in America and significantly undercuts German rivals.

EVXL’s Take

Polestar is doing what every EV maker must do in the post-subsidy era: self-fund the discounts that taxpayers used to provide. With federal EV tax credits dead since September 30, automakers can no longer rely on $7,500 government handouts to close sales. Tesla launched aggressive 0% APR financing for the same reason.

The catch here is significant. You must finance through Polestar, leasing doesn’t qualify, and the deal only applies to 2025 models that will be superseded by substantially upgraded 2026 vehicles.

The 2026 Polestar 3 jumps to 800-volt architecture and the Performance Pack gets 671 hp. If you can live with the 2025’s 400-volt system, this is one of the strongest luxury EV deals available, as first reported by Autoblog.
